Maran inspected the developments of the proposed improvements in
the drainage system in the area.
The drainage system in Seven Wells was a major cause of worry for
the residents of the area for a long time. The Corporation, which
has been concentrating on developing infrastructure in Chennai,
had ordered a renovation project of the drainage system in the Seven
Wells area. Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran inspected the works that
have been completed in the area on Friday.
Speaking to authorities, he ordered that the project be finished
in time. The project has been implemented at a cost of Rs. 1.46
crores. This will benefit nearly 7.5 lakh families who reside in
that area. Mr. Maran also spoke to local residents and learnt about
their troubles and apprehensions. He immediately ordered the authorities
to make sure the grievances of the public are attended to.
