Records are meant to be broken. But this record seems to be a very expensive one. The price of this costly metal – gold – has scaled a new peak on Wednesday.

Gold has always found buyers across world markets irrespective of age and gender. The price of gold has been steadily on the rise for more than a year now. The price of ornamental gold increased by Rs. 128, per sovereign, on Wednesday alone. The price of gold per sovereign (8 gms) was Rs. 14,280. This is a new record according to market analysts.

The previous high was recorded on June 8, 2010 when ornamental gold was sold at 14,192 per 8 gms.
