  IAS officer suspension reversed

The Tamil Nadu government overturned the suspension of an IAS officer and has agreed to act on the outcome of the enquiry which is currently on.

IAS officer Umashankar, who was accused of accumulating wealth of unheard proportions, is facing an enquiry by the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department. Following the decision of the TN government, Mr. Umashankar was appointed as the Managing Director of TNSIC (Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation).

The period of suspension shall be regulated on the outcome of the inquiry and disciplinary proceedings initiated against him, an official press release said.
