  Two sub-inspectors suspended

Two sub-inspectors and seven constables were suspended from duty on Wednesday following investigations by the CB-CID officials. The complaint was made by the law college student Ashok Kumar.

The case of the law college student Ashok Kumar, hailing from Thirukazhukundram, is assuming bigger proportions. The latest development in this case is that it has been transferred to the CB-CID police. Following questioning and investigations, two sub-inspectors and seven constables have been suspended. It was earlier alleged that the policemen beat Ashok Kumar severely before he was hospitalized.

It is to be recalled that nearly 200 law college students staged a protest march yesterday in Chennai.
