Devotees of Lord Krishna had a narrow
escape when a sudden explosion happened in the Hare Krishna temple
in Leicester, England on Friday.
Around 30 devotees have been estimated to be inside the temple when
a sudden explosion created panic inside and outside the temple premises.
The blast has destroyed most of the temple building. Initial investigations
inform that the blast might have been caused by cylinders used inside
the temple to cook free meals for devotees on account of Janmashtami
celebrations.
Initially, there were fears that people might have been trapped
inside but authorities confirmed that all the people have been safely
brought out of the temple. No damage was appeared to have been done
to adjacent properties.
According to Sundar Das, President of Hare Krishna in Leicester,
"The blast did cause initial panic but things have been brought
into control. There are no casualties reported."
