  Sep 18, 2010 10.20 AM

Six men were arrested in London on Friday when cops feared an alleged assault on Pope Benedict XVI.

The officials did not reveal any information about the persons arrested or about the alleged plan. The only information is that the arrested gang consists of members between the ages of 26 and 50. These people have been arrested under the terrorism act.

The Pope has been in the middle of controversies with the record of sexual abuse by members of the clergy, as well as the Vatican’s policies on contraception and homosexuality. A Vatican spokesperson said that the police are taking necessary measures and that the Pope is safe and happy about his trip to London.
