The AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa who had received threatening letters recently warning her not to enter Madurai to address her proposed rally on October 18 has said that she would not be easily cowed down by such threats and would attend the meeting as planned on that day.

‘I was neither bothered about these threatening letters nor interested about who was behind such things. "Birth and Death will come ones in the life. I never bothered about it. To save innocent Tamils from the clutches of tainted chief minister M Karunanidhi and his family, I will attend the Madurai Rally", Ms Jayalalithaa said in an interview to a media last night.

Another threat letter had been sent by ''Vaigai Puyal'' Baalu, recently stating that he was issuing a final warning to the AIADMK leader against visiting Madurai. He had earlier sent a threat letter. The letter also warned Jaya TV wantedly of talking about the murder of former DMK Minister Tha Krittinan and its lawyer Pasumpon Pandiyan. The letter further warned that the continual talk about the murder unnecessarily provoked his ''Annan'' (Elder brother).

Ms Jayalalithaa should think twice before visiting Madurai and asked her to forget about Maduari. Baalu warned that if she did not heed, the Jaya TV office, Ms Jayalalithaa's Poes Garden residence, the residence of Pasumpon Pandiyan and Kodanadu Estate would be simultaneously bombed.

To this Ms Jayalalithaa said, ''I am used to it (facing such threats) and it will not in any way affect her service to the public and I am not bothered if anything happens, despite this I will participate in the Madurai rally as planned’’.

''I believe that death will come only once and I am ready to face whenever it comes,'' she said.
