  Swine flu: Now comes nasal spray

One of Chennai’s popular landmark, Valluvar Kottam, turned out as a medical camp with hundreds thronging to administer H1N1 swine flu vaccine at the Chennai Corporation lab at Valluvar Kottam on Sunday. More than 300 people were vaccinated.

Chennai Mayor M. Subramanian informed that the vaccine will be available in Saidapet, Choolai, Perambur, Thiruvanmiyur and on EVR High Road from Monday during a drive here and also told that about 1 lakh posters on precautions, dos and don’ts on how individuals could protect themselves from getting swine flu would be distributed to the public.

The vaccine is already being administered at the King Institute of Preventive Medicine, Guindy. The intra-nasal spray is available at Rs. 150 and the injection is available for Rs. 250.
