In a shocking revelation on Friday, Iran President Mr. Ahmadinejad told a UN meeting that the US government was responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

There was a theory that "some segments within the US government orchestrated the attack to reverse the declining American economy and its grips on the Middle East, in order to save the Zionist regime," Ahmadinejad said, which led to a walkout of the US delegates in the UN General Assembly. "The majority of the American people as well as other nations and politicians agree with this view," he added.

Ahmadinejad then urged the UN to carry out an investigation that would determine what happened on 9/11.

Holding the Quran and Bible in his hands, he said, "On behalf of the Iranian nation, I pay respect to all Divine books and their followers," referring to the Florida pastor's claim to burn the Quran on the ninth anniversary of 9/11 attacks, which never happened.
