When we clap for cine heroes who
jumps 100 meters from ground, what
we are going to do for this man
who captured Ajmal Kasab (the lone
captured terrorist).
He fought with Ajmal Kasab who had
AK 47 in his hand. It is to be noted
that Omble doesn’t have even
a single weapon. He held Kasab’s
gun which saved his colleague’s
life. It also gave room for his
colleagues to arrest him.
When he saw Kasab he charged towards
him (although he was unarmed and
Kasab was with AK47). Kasab started
firing at him, still he stood like
a shield.
"When we saw that Omble was
not letting go of the terrorist's
gun, we knew we could not let his
sacrifice go in vain. He held on
and we completed his unfinished
task," his colleague Sanjay
Govilkar said.
(When I just completed writing the
above line I just stood up for a
moment a saluted him, it is just
my reflexes)
He lived for our nation and died
for our nation.
Indian government honored him with
the Ashoka Chakra on 26 January
2009. It is the highest peacetime
gallantry award one can receive.
